Hello doctor,
My daughter has been suffering from allergic rhinitis for the last few years. It is common during the winter season to cold and cough. In the summer also the same problem persists. She is on tablet Montek LC (a combination of Montelukast and Levocetirizine). If she discontinues this even for one day, her allergic rhinitis gets aggravated, and other family members also suffer from the same issues. Now she suffers from acute itching on her body, mainly in her arms, legs, stomach, and back, and it is really disturbing. Please prescribe medications, and I have attached the photographs.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
The pictures you uploaded are not clear (attachment removed to protect patient identity). Anyways it looks like some allergy. Give her anti-histaminic syrup, Atarax (Hydroxyzine hydrochloride) 1.5 teaspoon twice daily for three days, and apply Lacto Calamine lotion over the itchy areas. As far as allergic rhinitis is concerned, you need to consult a good ENT doctor and get her evaluated. I would suggest to start her on Fluticasone nasal spray for a few weeks. This would control the episodes to a greater extent.
Thank you doctor,
Can the prescribed medicine be combined with her present medication i.e., Montek LC tablet?
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
Yes, it can be combined with the medications you are taking.
Avoid cold drinks, citrus fruits, cool air like AC or air cooler, and dust.
