Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My son is 16 years old and gets an allergic cold bout at least once a month. His symptoms during that time are an excessive running nose, frequent sneezing bouts, and nasal irritation. Please suggest the appropriate remedy for curing his allergy from the root and also for immediate relief as he is studying. How do I detect the reason behind this allergy so as to keep away from the cause?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Give him Allegra M (Montelukast and Fexofenadine) tablet for a week in the evenings. This medicine is better than others as it produces the least sleep. This will help him read well. Keep away from dust, smoke, fumes, perfumes, mud, pollution, direct air-conditioning, etc. After his exams are over, note down whenever he gets allergy and that way you may be able to find the offending agent. Allergy cannot be cured. It can only be prevented and kept under wraps. To detect the allergen one must do a skin prick allergy testing.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
