I have rectal bleeding without any external cuts. Is it hemorrhoid?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been experiencing rectal bleeding for the past 10 days. At first, it was light but today I noticed that the bleeding seems more severe. It dripped a lot and covered the majority of the toilet paper. The stool itself was not red, just light brown and regular as always. I do not think I have any external cuts or wounds because I do not feel any pain or stinging sensation as I wipe. If it were an external wound, it would have healed by now. I have been wiping gently or dabbing to stop the bleeding. Although I feel fine (no external or internal pain), I am anxious and nervous about this development. My rectum does bulge out when I pass stools, so the obvious is hemorrhoids. But the bleeding seems like something from inside.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Yes, I do agree, you are likely having bleeding from hemorrhoids.

My recommendation for you will be:

1. Avoid constipation, take Ispaghol husk 2 tablespoons in a glass of water. Keep it for a good four hours and take it.

2. Take tablet Daflon (Flavonoid) 500 mg 1-0-1 for five days.

Do not worry, it will settle.

I hope this helps.

The Probable causes

Constipation, excessive straining, venous insufficiency, increased venous pressure.

Probable diagnosis

Hemorrhoids.

Preventive measures

Take plenty of water. Chew food well. Take a lot of vegetable and fruits.
