Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I got operated three years back for hemorrhoids. After the operation, everything is normal except itching after every four months. Itching will be present for several days and subside. I have used several ointments, creams, and tablets but no relief. Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Hemorrhoids can be a common cause of itching in the anal area. But more common is anal fissure. But I feel disappointed to inform you that this diagnosis can only be confirmed after a physical examination. So I will suggest visiting a local doctor for complete evaluation and diagnosis.

Meanwhile, I suggest you take the following medications, which I am sure will help you get rid of the itching.

1. Anovate cream (Phenylephrine 0.10 %, Beclometasone 0.025 %, and Lidocaine 2.50 %) apply thrice daily.

2. Tablet Atarax 10 mg (Hydroxyzine 25 mg) twice daily.

I suggest you to take this treatment for one week, and you will feel much better.

Hope this helps.
