This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am suffering from an abscess near my anal area. I am having severe pain near my anal area. I had the same two years before. I have been taking Moxclav 625 (amoxicillin and clavulanate) for the past two days. However, my fever has not come down. Kindly advise.

Hi,

I am glad you chose icliniq for your medical-related queries.

I understand your concern and will try to help you with it.

For anal abscess, I prefer to advise a combination of Ampicillin and Cloxacillin to my patients for 7 to 10 days. Along with anti-inflammatory drugs like Diclofenac and Serratopeptidase is also advised. Get your blood sugar levels done. You may continue the already started course of the antibiotic under your doctor's supervision. He may increase the dose up to three times a day. Sometimes, hot fomentation also helps.

Thank you for consulting me.

You can always reach me at icliniq.com.
