Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I got a fever with body aches nine months ago. So I took a 500 mg tablet of Paracetamol at night. Took another the next morning. The next day afternoon, I got loose motions for which I took tablet Norflox. The temperature subsided, but the dizziness and fever continued. I still get loose motions, feverish feelings, nausea, dizziness, and weakness.

How long is this expected to last?

Should I visit a doctor?

Kindly advise.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Kindly do not start an antibiotic regimen on your own. Yes, it is good that you took Paracetamol tablets. Kindly take a Lactic acid sachet as they contain Lactobacillus it will improve your gut flora. Kindly discuss this with your doctor before taking any medication. If you have a lot of diarrhea, you can start on the tablet Norfloxacin according to your body weight, and you need to take it for five to seven days. Do not discontinue, or you will have resistance to the antibiotics. Kindly drink the rehydration salt solution in 4 cups of water daily.

I hope this information helps you sort out your problems.

Thank you.
