Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am an 18-year-old girl. I am 5 feet 4 inches tall and weigh 84 pounds. I have been experiencing feelings of anxiety for the past few days, approximately three to four days. I frequently experience anxiety, and when it happens, it tends to last for a month or two. My most recent episode of anxiety was three months ago. Currently, I am feeling very depressed and anxious again. While certain activities, like talking to my best friend or going to specific places, can temporarily reduce these feelings, I am unable to engage in these activities now due to upcoming exams, and my friend is also unwell. I rarely share my feelings with anyone because they do not believe me. Sometimes, I find myself crying due to the depression and anxiety. I believe it is time to seek help from an expert.

Hello,

I appreciate that you have chosen icliniq.com for your medical needs.

I am here to give you the best care possible.

Kindly screen yourself for clinical depression and anxiety disorders. You can do a self-rating test, such as Zung's self-rating depression scale and Zung's self-rating anxiety scale, which are readily available online. If the results indicate moderate to severe depression or an anxiety disorder, please consult a psychiatrist in person for a detailed evaluation and treatment. Treatment options include medications and psychotherapy. Here are some practices that may help:

  1. Practice relaxation techniques like daily breath relaxation exercises.
  2. Share your feelings with family or close friends, as sharing can be quite beneficial. If that is not feasible, maintain a stress diary and daily log your thoughts uncensored, but never read them again.
  3. Exercise regularly and maintain a balanced diet rich in antioxidants and omega fatty acids.

Remember, every problem has a solution; you just need to try to solve it. Help is just a step away. Feel free to ask if you have any further queries.

I hope you are satisfied with my answer. For further queries, you can consult me at icliniq.

Thank you.
