Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am 19 years old and have these symptoms:
1. Facial and chest flushing randomly throughout the day.
2. Blood pressure of 170/111 mm of Hg when the doctor checked.
I am not anemic, diabetic, or hyperthyroid. The doctor attributed my high BP reading to anxiety. I also have anxiety and panic disorder. What could be the reason? Kindly help.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
Anxiety is a possible cause of hypertension. But we must first confirm the hypertension diagnosis by taking more than one reading. Also, renal causes of hypertension must be excluded as they are the most common cause in young people. Therefore, I suggest you take some anxiety medications after consulting your physician.
Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
