Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

For the past two months, I have been experiencing knee pain when bending. What are the causes, and what medications should I start with?

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I just read your query. I can understand your concern.

Knee pain may be the result of an injury or some other medical conditions, including arthritis, patellar tendinitis, ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) injury, knee bursitis, torn meniscus, gout, and infections.

I suggest you take the following tablets:

  1. One tablet of Ibuprofen 400mg once a day after a meal.

  2. One tablet of Rabeprazole 20 mg before meal.

  3. One tablet of t Shelcal (Calcium and vitamin D3) 500 mg once a day for 30 days.

  4. Take a tablet of vitamin D 10 mg once daily.

You can take these medicines if you are not allergic to them, and do not take these medicines if you have bronchial asthma. Follow up immediately in case of any reactions. Activities that cause pain should be avoided temporarily.

If the knee is swollen or sore, the following positions and activities should be avoided until knee pain and swelling resolve.

    Squatting.

    Kneeling.

    Twisting.

    Pivoting.

    Jogging.

    Aerobics.

    Dancing and playing sports.

You should wear a kneecap to support the knee joint. Wear it all day, and you can remove it at night. Apply ice packs twice daily for 15 minutes. You need to take an X-ray of both knee joints.

Take the X-ray and kindly follow up for further advice. I hope I have answered all your questions.

Do get back in case of any further queries.

    Thank you.

Regarding follow up

Follow up with xrays,

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
