Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I have done a semen analysis and was diagnosed with asthenoteratozoospermia (low progressive motility). Is there anything to worry about? Other results look fine, but I am not a doctor to conclude it. I am attaching my report for your review as well. Kindly help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I can understand your concern.
I have checked your report (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity). I can conclude from the reports that you have low progressive motility and zero normal sperm. All of the sperms are defective. The most common reason behind this can be an infection. I would suggest medications and an ultrasound of the scrotum and abdomen to know the prostate and testicle status. Also, a urine profile should be done to check for infection. I suggest you start a tablet of Nitrofurantoin 100 mg twice daily after eating for five days. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with them, and take medicines with their consent.
I hope this helps.

Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
Thank you for your reply.
Please suggest any other tests for me. Also, can I get the prescription for the medications you suggested? Will the medication improve the motility and morphology of my sperm? Kindly help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I am suggesting some common nonspecific ways of treatment. Eat healthy and high-colored fruits and vegetables, eggs, dark chocolate, and walnuts. Environment and work cause an increase in the temperature of the scrotum. For example, long drives and using a laptop on a lap. Avoid doing that. Avoid wearing a tight dress. Quit alcohol and smoking. Have a good sleep. Do regular exercise. Avoid packed or frozen food.
I hope this helps.
