How can one get relief from eczema and eye allergies?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have eczema, and I have been taking medications for five years with multiple doctors, with no results. Some worked, some did not. The main problem is I have had a running nose (for three years), skin gets red around the mouth with black scars, full black rough skin on the neck, and for the past six months, I have had an eye allergy with watery eyes, sometimes redness, itching, and full dark circles around the eyes. I have been consulting with one doctor for six months. I will share the prescription, which she gave thrice in two months and was informed to use only for 15 days, but after 15 days, now again, I have got severe eye pain in and around the dark circles. I have also checked with the eye doctor, and they gave me multiple ointments and drops, which did not work out.

I request that you please help with prescribing similar medicines, which will help me with the issue.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through all the pictures and prescriptions (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity). The problem that you have is atopic dermatitis. It is a disease that is not an infection, but your immunity will be working abruptly and uncontrollably. Its triggers are food, dust, any bite, or cosmetics. It is a lifelong problem presenting with different issues at different ages. You have perioral dermatitis, ocular dermatitis, allergic rhinitis, and conjunctivitis. It is all because of your atopy. Please start on Tablet Defcort (Deflazacort) 6 mg twice a day for one week. After a one-week start with once a day for one week, Tablet Taxim-O (Cefixime) 200 mg twice a day for five days, Tablet Xyzal M (Levocetirizine Montelukast) half a tablet in the morning and at night one tablet for three weeks (for itching), Zensoft Max or Cetaphil lotion in the morning on the spots, Momate F cream mixed with Calosoft AF lotion and apply it at night on the spots. Drink a lot of water.

I hope I cleared all your doubts.

Thank you.
