Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My husband had stage three bladder cancer. He had surgery, but they could not remove all of the tumor. After undergoing chemotherapy for four months, his bladder and prostate were removed. The cancer had penetrated the bladder wall, and his prostate showed cancer cells also. He felt pretty well with the stoma and recovery from surgery until a month ago when he developed pain in his left side and back, and a large, malleable lump appeared on his left lower back. He has become fatigued due to his pain. A bone scan was clear last week. A biopsy was done earlier this week with no report yet. They attempted to drain the lump but could not remove fluid during the lymph node biopsy. We are both discouraged and grasping for answers. Please reply with an opinion.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

I can understand the anxiety you guys would be going through. However, I would need more precise information for answers regarding possibilities. So kindly follow up with the latest medical records for thorough and specific advice. This malleable lump may be unrelated to the cancer at all. It could be a complication of surgery or otherwise. So, follow up with investigation reports and doctors' notes for specific advice. I suggest you read this.
