Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am uploading MRI reports of my father. Would you please interpret it? We are scared it might be a serious thing. He has pain in the waist (tail end) area. Kindly suggest.

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have seen the MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) results (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity) provided by you. I suggest PIVD (prolapsed intervertebral disc) at multiple lumbar spine segments, mainly at L4 to L5 and L5 to S1 levels visible. These prolapsed discs might cause local muscle spasms and also can compress the exiting nerve roots, which supply down in the legs. It may also cause back pain, with or without radiating pain in the leg. Though the interpretation of these photographs only will not be that accurate. I will need to see all images of MRI including axial and sagittal images.

Thank you.
