Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 19-year-old, and I am experiencing severe pain in the center of my back between my shoulders. It started as mild pain three days ago but has been getting progressively worse. I tried taking medication for gas, thinking it might be the cause, but it has not helped. The pain intensifies when I lay down or take deep breaths, and I also feel it when I eat or drink, with discomfort as food goes down. The pain has become unbearable, and I am also experiencing symptoms that feel like a fever, along with persistent weakness in my body. Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understood your concern. Based on the information and your symptoms of chest and back pain, as well as pain after food intake, I suggest considering the following differential diagnosis: Angina with esophagitis. To further evaluate your condition, I suggest you undergo the following tests: ECG (Electrocardiogram), barium swallow, and a chest X-ray. I suggest you take the following medications for relief.

  1. Tablet of acetaminophen 500 mg orally three times a day.
  2. Tablet of Clopidogrel 75 mg orally once a day.
  3. Capsule of Piroxicam 40 mg orally once a day.

If your symptoms persist, schedule another appointment for a follow-up consultation. I hope this has helped you. Kindly follow up if you have more doubts.

Thank you.
