How can I get rid of my persistent bad breath?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 37-year-old male. I have had bad breath and when I talk people around me itch their noses. My problem started five years ago and I was expecting it to stop someday, but it has not stopped yet. There is some plaque on my teeth. Now I prefer not to talk with my friends. When I talk they itch their nose. I am in serious trouble.

Kindly help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

Do not worry. I have experience in handling halitosis (bad breath) cases. I can give you suitable remedies as well as therapy to get rid of your chronic bad breath issue. See the thing is that there may be a local or an underlying factor responsible for such stale or foul-smelling breath. I suggest you answer a few questions mentioned below:

  1. Did you get any dental procedures like scaling (cleaning) done till now?
  2. Are you a vegetarian or a non-vegetarian and what kind of general diet are you inclined to?
  3. If you are on any medications, particularly in the last five years as you said, do you experience any change in your taste, bleeding gums, or any other oral issues?

I will give you an accurate diagnosis with remedies and prescription advice which you can implement after you have answered these questions.

I hope this has helped you.

Thank you.
