Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am suffering from bad breath. I feel uncomfortable talking to my colleagues and sharing work problems with seniors. Is there any permanent medical treatment for severe bad breath? I have been suffering from it for the past five years.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

I understand your concern. Bad breath, also known as halitosis, can occur due to several causes like poor oral hygiene, oral and dental infections, post-nasal drip, sinusitis, acid reflux, respiratory diseases, diabetes, etc. You should consult a Dentist or an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated depending upon the suspected cause can help in diagnosis. I suggest you to follow a few instructions mentioned below.

  1. Start gargling with mouthwash twice a day.
  2. Chew-flavored sugar-free chewing gum.
  3. Do warm saline gargles twice a day.
  4. Limit the intake of high-aroma foods like onion and garlic.
  5. Drink plenty of water and maintain good oral hygiene.

I hope this has helped you. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
