Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I think I have balanitis. I am having problem in moving the foreskin and there is some white discharge. The penis feels rough and there are red spots. There is pain when I try to move the foreskin. Please help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
Balanitis is a common problem because of infection of the tip of the penis or the skin covering it. First, you must do a blood sugar test to rule out diabetes because this problem is very common in people having high sugar. Next, the treatment will depend on the severity of balanitis, for which the urologist needs a physical examination. In mild to moderate cases, the ointment of antibiotics and steroids is given for one week, and results are assessed. In case the balanitis is severe, then circumcision surgery is needed. In this surgery, prepuce skin is removed.
I hope this information will help.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Thank you for your reply. I do not have diabetes. I just woke up this morning and noticed this during the shower. Is there some ointment that you can suggest for treatment? I have Luliconazole cream. Should I apply that?
Thank you.
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
Yes, Luliconazole can be applied for now. As I suggested earlier, a physical examination by a urologist is needed to ensure the severity and plan further treatment if required.
I hope this information will help.
Thank you.
