Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a man and have taken birth control pills for a long period of time. Is it possible to return your hormones to normal? At the current moment even after two years, I am still facing a huge problem with personality, assertiveness, low hormones, and low sexual drive. Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern. Yes, it can be brought back to the normal stage by doing hormonal tests and with appropriate medicines for that. I would suggest you share more details regarding the name of the medicine and your symptoms.

I hope this helps you.

Thank you.

Regards.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor for the reply,

My wife used to put birth control medications in my food. I did not realize it till I had several issues with my body. She would take a pile, crush it, and put it in the food I ate. Eventually, I had breast growth, depression, mood swings, erectile dysfunction, and a lack of energy to do anything. I was eventually hospitalized at some point and had to take depression medication which worsened my condition. It is been two years and the condition has not changed. Now I have gout. I am not sure if that is also related. How can I resolve the issue? Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern. Yes, there can be complaints because of the drug exposure. I would suggest you plan for the investigation. Ultrasound scrotum and pelvis, penis Doppler, thyroid function test, blood sugar, serum testosterone free and total, serum estrogen, sex hormone binding globulin, FH (follicular hormone), LH (luteinizing hormone), prolactin, lipid profile, PSA (prostate-specific antigen), liver function test, urine test, and semen analysis.

Post-test we will be sure about your condition. Almost most of the time it can be recovered. Plan for regular exercise and mild weight lifting which will correct your issue on some level.

I hope this helps you.

Thank you.

Regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
