Bland Diet

A bland diet is also called a soft diet or low residue diet, or gastrointestinal soft diet. It includes low fiber and low-fat foods presenting with a soft consistency. They do not contain heavy spices and flavors. A bland diet is preferred in cases of people having Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, acid reflux, peptic ulcer, and diverticulitis. Milk and milk products with low fat, cooked vegetables, canned fruits with fruit juices, and vegetable juices come under bland foods.
