Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My daughter is suffering from dry eyes. She has blepharitis and allergy as well. On the doctor's advice, we got OSA done but could not show the reports due to COVID-19. Please look into the reports and help me understand which type of dry eyes she has and what is the main cause behind it? What can be the best treatment for her, and is it advisable for her to pursue a career in computer?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

She seems to be suffering from severe dry eyes due to meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD) and blepharitis. I advise gentle lid massage at the base of eyelashes both eyelids of both eyes twice daily for five minutes each. Clean the base of eyelashes every morning with diluted baby shampoo (a mixture of baby shampoo:water= one:two teaspoon). Eye ointment Chlorocol H (Chloramphenicol) apply for one month both eyes at eyelid margin at bedtime. Eyedrop Genteal gel at bedtime both eyes five minutes before eye ointment application. Eyedrop Genteal one drop six times per day for two months both eyes. Capsule DOXT SL 100 mg (Doxylin) one capsule twice daily after meals for two weeks followed by once daily for two more weeks.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
