Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have pain in my back just below my ribs and chest cage, mainly on the right side. I got an ultrasound done for the kidneys and abdomen. The urine culture test and blood creatinine are normal. I also have bloating, and my tummy becomes tight with gas.

Please let me know if it is due to a gas or kidney problem.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

The site of pain you described is the loin area, primarily due to a kidney stone; please describe the pain in detail, as the stone pain has specific features.

1. Is the pain dull, burning, or colicky?

2. Does it move to some other place?

3. Does it wake you up in the middle of the night?

4. Is it intermittent or continuous?

A standard ultrasound does not exclude the stone.

I suggest you to take CT scan (KUB - kidney-ureters-bladder) as it is the most sensitive tool to detect stones.

Please send me the investigations you have done for a more accurate interpretation.

For further advanced help, please do not hesitate to follow up.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
