Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am planning to get married, but I want to check blood group compatibility with my partner to avoid further pregnancy-related complications. My blood group is O negative, and my partner's blood group is B positive. Please suggest something.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern. They are not compatible blood groups, so you might have difficulty conceiving because the chances of miscarriage are high. I suggest you take an Anti-D immunoglobulin injection to prevent the complications (consult a specialist doctor, talk with him or her, and take medications with their consent).

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor for the reply,

I would like to know if medications will help me handle pregnancy-related problems.

Answered by Dr. Richa Agarwal

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

As you have a negative blood group and your husband has a positive blood group, your baby might have a negative or a positive blood group. So, I suggest you take the injection to avoid miscarriage (consult a specialist doctor, talk with him or her, and take medications with their consent).

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
