Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I got a blunt trauma several months ago, I visited my ophthalmologist he told me that I did not have angle recession. Recently I became extremely anxious and cannot stop blinking hard and squeezing my eyes with my eyelids. Can hard blinking and squeezing eyes with eyelids cause angle recession? I got a gonioscopy examination and was told I do not have angle recession. Kindly give me your suggestions. Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I would suggest that blinking and squeezing of eyelids can never cause angle recession. This occurs due to injury as the ciliary body muscles get disinserted. Nothing else can cause angle recession, you do not have to worry about it. I hope you find this useful. Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your response. I rubbed my eyes yesterday when I was using a towel to clean my face, would that cause angle recession or hyphema? I am sorry, I just got too much anxiety. Kindly suggest.

Answered by Dr. Shachi Dwivedi

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I suggest that rubbing your eyes cannot affect you and you can be relaxed as you can do anything you want. Angle recession is caused by blunt trauma like a fist fight or trauma. Nothing else can cause it. If it was hyphema you would have lost your vision by now.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
