Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I bought the laser hair removal at home. I thought they would send me the protective glasses, but I wore my sunglasses instead. I set it up on the lowest mode and put it on my hand for a patch. When I saw how bright, I immediately turned everything off.
I do not think the sunglasses are enough. I did not know it would be that bright. Do you think I did the damage?
Should I do a checkup?
Please advise.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
Well, first of all, I must say you did the right thing. You should not use it without protective goggles. Such lasers are usually harmful to your eyes in the long term.
So to answer your questions, I highly doubt any harm was done to you. Since you have used it for a short period, sunglasses can protect you from UV light if they have a UV filter, but they will not protect you from other light waves.
I would like to hear if you have any discomforting symptoms, and then we can decide if you need a check-up.
Kind regards.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Thank you for the reply,
For now, I do not have blurry vision or watery eyes or any headaches. After, I just felt dizzy and nauseous, but these days I have been like that lately. I had some water.
Right now, I do not have any dizziness, and my vision is perfectly fine.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
You are perfectly fine. I suggest you use some wetting drops, and it will help you feel better about your vision. Get wetting eye drops and use them three times a day.
It is better to ask for preservative-free eye drops.
Kind regards.
