Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am 41 years old and my body mass index (BMI) is 33. I honestly feel like I am running out of options. I have been on medicines for high blood pressure and cholesterol for years now, but nothing is bringing those triglycerides down. I tried Weight Watchers, keto, and even intermittent fasting, but nothing sticks. My doctor mentioned that metabolic surgery might help, but it is not usually done for people with higher BMIs. I do not want to wait till things get worse to do something about it. I also heard some folks with lower BMIs get approved if they have other risks, which I do. I am just tired of trying things that do not work in the long term.
Kindly help.
