How to manage breathing problems?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 28 years old and I have been not feeling well for the last four weeks. I ate channa masala in the last three weeks for almost six days. After that, I noticed a breathing problem and had a high heart rate of 130 to 140 and even, I could not sleep that night. I took so many antibiotics

like Omoxin, Montair LC, Betnesol, and Pantop-DSR. I had taken a course for a total of 10 days but I had the same issue with my health.

My doctor advised Montair LC for one month but I just fear taking that medicine because some are saying it is not good.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

According to the provided history, you have been prescribed Montelukast and Levocetirizine combination tablet which is used for allergic problems.

Your diagnosis could be an allergic bronchitis-like condition and so you have been prescribed this drug.

I suggest you undergo the following tests:

  1. Auscultation.

  2. Spirometry.

  3. AEC (absolute eosinophil count).

  4. CBC (complete blood count).

If allergic inflammation is present then this drug can be taken as it is a good drug. It helps in relieving allergic inflammation of the respiratory tract.

Kindly consult a specialist doctor, talk with them, and take proper guidance.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
