Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have been taking Metronidazole gel for about a week now. I have been having brown jelly-like globs coming out almost every day for the past week with no odor. Should I be concerned? I have also been on Nexaplon a birth control impact in my arm for two and a half years. I have no other symptoms. Please help.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to Icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

I have gone through the image (attachments removed to protect patient privacy). There is nothing to worry about. This could be because of the excess metronidazole jelly or could be some brownish discharge. There is nothing to be alarmed about. But please get yourself checked by a gynecologist internally. I suggest you practice the following until then.

1. Avoid having sex till then.

2. Wear cotton panties and loose lowers.

3. Maintain personal hygiene and take plenty of fluids.

4. Wash your private parts with normal tap water every time you use the washroom.

Do get back to me with reports so that I can guide you further.

I hope this information will help you.

Please revert in case of further queries.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
