I have semen leakage after urination. Why?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 21-year-old male. I am suffering from semen leakage after urination. It had been occurring for at least more than a month now. My urine does not seem to be cloudy or anything. The only thing I can think of that might cause it is that my masturbation frequency might have increased slightly during the past month, but now I have stopped for a week, it is the same still.

I just tested negative on all STIs, and it happens all day, not only in the mornings, even if I have masturbated beforehand. And it is causing problems because I can smell it through my underwear.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I fully understand your problem. In your question, you already gave a part of the right answer. Masturbation can cause a state of neuro-sensory hyperarousal. So, the problem should vanish once your body has adapted to not masturbating in the long run. You might develop night falls, wet dreams, but that is nothing to worry about but rather a sign of healing.

To improve hygiene, you should wear absorbing pads. You can buy those that are offered in supermarkets for men suffering from urine dripping. Change the pad every 24 hours.

To be on the safe side, you can also ask for a referral to a urologist who can perform sonography of your bladder, prostate, and testicles. And do not feel ashamed. Quite a lot of men in your age wear such pads. It is just something nobody talks about with his friends.

The Probable causes

Hyperarousal, chronic.

Investigations to be done

Sonography of the bladder, prostate, and testicles.

Probable diagnosis

Chronic state of hyper-arousal due to compulsive masturbation behavior.

Treatment plan

Hygiene pads. Stopping masturbation (no exceptions). Sonography as mentioned above.

Preventive measures

Stop watching porn movies.
