Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have a small bump that appeared on my scalp a month ago. If I bump it with my comb or nail, it will bleed. I am now getting worried about it.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

You might be developing seborrheic keratoses. Seborrheic keratoses are the most common benign tumor that usually develops as we age. It is usually asymptomatic and begins with the appearance of one or more sharply defined, light brown, flat macules, as you mention freckles, found to be most concentrated on the head, neck, and hands, with the highest amount of sun exposure.

No laboratory tests are needed, and you should look for the sudden appearance of multiple itchy lesions, known as the Leser-Trélat sign-associated with the development of adenocarcinoma of the gastrointestinal tract, lymphoma, Sézary syndrome, and acute leukemia.

I suggest you have 30 % trichloroacetic acid cautery (TCA) or topical treatment with Tazarotene cream 0.1 % applied twice daily for 16 weeks.

I hope this information will help.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
