Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

It started with a burning sensation in my stomach and throat, regurgitating, food felt like sticking to my throat. So I started taking PPI (Rabeprazole). It did keep that in control. But after some time I started having throat symptoms (sore throat, excess throat clearing, and one streak of blood after clearing my throat). I consulted a doctor for that for which she asked me to get a CXR and blood routine. Both came out to be normal. So she gave me minor medicine to lower the throat symptoms. Again the burning thing started and I started PPI on and off and am starting to have diarrhea, especially in the morning (brown watery stools). Also, I have had weight loss in the past months. So I am not sure what to do if I take medicine it ends with diarrhea and if I do not I still have a burning sensation after eating food. Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Your current symptoms like loose motions, low appetite, and weight loss seem to be due to some gastric infection. I suggest you do an ultrasound of the abdomen, stool examination, and culture and sensitivity test. These will help to diagnose clearly and treat properly. Meanwhile, take plenty of water, and ORS (oral rehydration solution). Take very simple and light foods for three days. Take a capsule of Pan D (Domperidone and Pantoprazole) on an empty stomach, an Econorm (Saccharomyces boulardii) sachet twice a day, a tablet of Satrogyl twice a day after food, and a tablet of Meftal spas (Dicyclomine hydrochloride and Mefenamic acid ) sos for pains. Take all the medications for three days. Send me follow-up reports after three days.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
