Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I was making a hamburger and the grease popped on my face. I have no puss or extra skin. It is just purple. I have never experienced a burn of this color, so I am worried about the scarring. It was red around and hurt, but it cooled down and did not hurt anymore. I got hit in a couple of places, like on my nose and in the middle of my upper lip, but they are small and not as big. Should I worry? What should I do?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. As per the history and image provided (the attachments are removed to protect the patient's identity), the burn mark is of grade 1 degree which is the most superficial type of burn wound, and you do not have to worry. It will heal and fade off on its own. It may be time-consuming as the skin needs time to heal. But it will eventually fade off. I suggest Silverex cream (Chlorhexidine gluconate and Silver sulfadiazine) may be used on the burn spots only twice daily. Do not apply this cream near the eyes or nostrils. This cream is for faster healing and prevents infection on burn wounds. Take Tablet Ascorbic acid 500 mg once daily to be taken after dinner for one month. Take Capsule Evion 400 mg (Tocopheryl acetate) once daily after breakfast for one month. The capsules, as mentioned above, will help with faster healing and better appearance following recovery. Adequate hydration with at least nine glasses of water a day of 250 mL standard glass size will help to prevent dryness and discomfort while the burns heal. I hope you find it helpful. Kind regards.
