Patient's Query

Hello doctor.

I had a skin burn because of dry ice. I now have a blister on my hand. So, how should it be handled?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

It seems to be a grade-1 burn. For seven days, use FM derma (Fluticasone) ointment twice daily. Stay away from any known triggers. To avoid further bacterial infection, wipe the region with Povidone iodine solution or regular saline and cotton gauze. Avoid causing harm or trauma to the lesion. Next time, avoid using ice.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor.

But what about the newly created blister? Should I leave it as is or cover it up?

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Dressing is one of the treatment choices available. However, I recommend that you avoid occlusion or dressing.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
