Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am 19 years old and a virgin. My opening of the vagina is completely white with some tiny lifted or pointy spots around it. I am noticing it for the past couple of years. I do not have any other problem like itching, bleeding or smell. So I have never consulted a doctor for this problem, and now, I start to have a feeling that it is abnormal or severe. It is found with white skin and looks like dry skin. Please suggest.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Please send a picture of it. As you are still virgin, you can have an intact hymen (small skin tag at the entrance of the vagina). White dry appearance occurs due to candidiasis with vaginal secretions. It gives you the presentation as you explained. Check your hemoglobin. Even low hemoglobin level along with candidiasis also gives the appearance you told. You can also have a local infectious lesion, skin tag, and wart. A local examination can confirm it. In the case of candidiasis, you can use Canesten (antifungal cream) with the help of an applicator. You can use it at bedtime. If you have any other lesion or pelvic infection, you should do a swab or skin scraping and check it in the laboratory.

Do CBC (complete blood count) to exclude anemia. Collect the results and discuss it with your local gynecologist or here. In case of a wart, it has to be removed with care. Due to the absence of sex, you do not know the secretions observed in sexually active lady during, before and after sex. So vaginal dryness could be obvious. Wart or skin tag like lesion occurs when there is an infection with human papillomavirus. Differentiating them on examination is necessary. I hope you have understood the suspected causes of this issue. It will become better after a local physical examination and treatment. Use lubricants when you become active. Have strict hygiene. Use soft, cotton and comfortable undergarments.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
