Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I had cautery, and after one week, the doctor said it was okay to have sex. And then we had sex today, and before I went to sleep, I inserted a vaginal suppository, and it felt itchy.

Is it normal?

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

As we do threading for the face or upper lip and apply some product on the face, which causes itching for some time, and the area where we had hair removal with thread that is more painful for some time, and then it gets normal. It is the same way for cautery.

In cautery, high frequency is used to do the procedure. It depends and differs from person to person. It takes some time to have a normal response from cauterized tissue as they have experienced high-frequency waves.

I suggest you wear soft and comfortable undergarments. You can sit in mildly cold water to have temporary relief. Try to avoid rubbing, chemical medications, cosmetics, or soap locally for one to two weeks. Use lubricants for sex for some time. Try to use condoms to avoid sexually transmitted diseases. Have a healthy diet with high protein to have a fast recovery. Walk and exercise daily. Quit recreational drugs and have recreational activities.

Thank you.
