Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have congested chest and I cannot get the phlegm while coughing it up. I have been to my private doctor and urgent care and I received the following:

  1. Virtussin AC Syrup.
  2. Tablet Azithromycin 500 mg.
  3. Steriod shot.
  4. Tablet Carbinoxamine 4 mg.
  5. Amoxicillin 500 mg.
  6. Benzonatate 200 mg.
  7. Fluticasone 50 Mcg.

What can I do to get this cold out of my chest?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

You are a heart patient. I advise the following:

Drink plenty of liquid especially hot like tomato soup, tea, and coffee. Eat a light blend diet. Avoid greasy food and fried food. Eat baked food. X-ray chest is advisable. I suggest following treatment

  1. Tablet Accuclave ( Amoxycillin and Clavulanic Acid) 625 mg after lunch and dinner for five to seven days.
  2. Tablet Stercort (Deflazacort) 8 mg one tablet after lunch and dinner for three to six days.
  3. Continue the cough syrup as prescribed.
  4. You can continue nasal spray.

I hope this settles your problem.

Feel free to ask if needed.
