Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 48-year-old male and suffer from asthma. I have been experiencing pain in the center of my chest when I walk, and the pain radiates to my left arm and upper side of my stomach for the past 10 days. The pain subsides when I rest.

l underwent ECG (electrocardiogram), 2d echo, stress test, X-ray, and blood test. Everything is normal other than cholesterol which is 206 mg/dL and I also had high blood pressure. I have consulted a few doctors, some say it is not a heart problem while others say it is a dangerous heart disease. So please kindly suggest what is the problem of chest pain.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern. It is quite common for people to be worried in the event of chest pain, they think it is often associated with heart disease, but not all chest pains are associated with heart disease. Chest pain associated with heart disease always comes along with other symptoms like shortness of breath, palpitations, etc. Your chest pain is most likely due to your asthma. Chest pain is quite common in asthmatic patients. I advise you to see your physician for a physical evaluation. I believe if your asthma is well managed, the chest pain should improve.

I hope this helps you.

Regards
