Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I treated my chlamydia infection before eight months back. I got a negative result before six months. Now I am feeling bad and got a positive result back before three days. It seems that my infection is recurring. I have started taking Azithromycin 500. I need a better solution.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com. Serum IgG (immunoglobulin G) remains positive after getting an infection and so it indicates a past infection. Doxycycline helps to treat a chlamydia infection. So I suggest you take Doxycycline 100 mg twice daily for two weeks.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I seem to have some discomforts for the past six months. I am taking Doxycycline for three days along with Azithromycin. But it does help me. How to know that I do not have an infection?

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com. As your IgM (immunoglobulin M) is negative, it indicates that you do not have an infection now. If you are having any other symptoms like pain or discharge, then I suggest you take Doxycycline twice daily for two weeks.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Kindly go through the reports taken before six months. I have an IgG of 17.00 mg/dL. But I got my infection before eight months. I am confused. I request you kindly go through my reports. For the past six months, I have problems in my lower stomach or abdomen even after taking medicines. I was taking Doxymycin 100 mg twice a day. Uripax twice a day for three days, Norflox 400 mg twice a day, and Floctil. I need a conclusion.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com. In some cases, lower abdominal pain can occur due to prostatitis. You need to take antibiotics for three to four months. Chlamydia remains asymptomatic in most cases. So it is not wise to co-relate your abdominal pain with chlamydia. I suggest you do a physical examination soon by consulting a gastroenterologist. It is necessary to rule out the other causes of lower abdominal pain.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I have taken an ultrasound of my lower abdomen already and there are no abnormalities. I have done some kidney-specific blood tests as suggested by my doctor.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I suggest you take capsule Doxycycline 100 mg twice daily for two months. Your symptoms can occur due to mild prostatitis or mild epididymitis. It is difficult to confirm the diagnosis by doing basic investigations and you need to do a physical examination.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

What to be done now? What are the procedures to be done to get cured?

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com. I understand your concern. I have seen some patients having similar symptoms like you with one of the investigations pointing towards the clinical diagnosis. It is good to take antibiotics for two to three months to get cured. I also suggest you consult a urologist for a local examination again to get resolved.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
