Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had inflammation inside the nose and ear clogged. I had water in the ear, and it went away, but I still feel some balance issue. I am currently under nasal steroid spray.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I need some details to understand the problem. Do you have postnasal discharge, if so what is the color of it? Do you have a nasal blockage? Do you feel better with corticosteroid spray? Please describe your imbalance. Does it look like spinning, a sensation of rotation, or just dizziness but you can still walk independently?

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

The inside of my nose is inflamed, but there is no nasal drip. I started using nasal steroid like four days ago, and I feel like one side is bigger than the other. When I walk like it is not straight. It is not affecting my vision, and I do not know what is going on. I started feeling dizzy with a headache and went to the doctor, and they told I had a sinus infection.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Sinus infection can cause ear blockage and some head heaviness. I see that you can walk alone without help, so it is not vertigo. If you have a sinus infection, the corticosteroid spray is not enough to treat sinus infections. You have to add a Fluoroquinolone antibiotic as Moxifloxacin 400 once daily for five days, a mucolytic and an analgesic as Brufen 200 (Ibuprofen) twice daily. It can be so helpful if you send me a photo of your nose to see if it has an asymmetry.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Why do I feel like one side is bigger than the other? My right ear is still blocked. Is my ear blockage due to fluid left in the ear?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

An ear can be still blocked even after removing of water because of eustachian tube dysfunctionwhich needs more time to be treated. Your feeling may be due to the entire nasal congestion and inflammation. I asked you to send a photo of your face to judge the shape of your nose.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I have attached the file.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I do not see any significant pathological shape changes at your nose (attachment removed to protect patient identity). And I can be sure that there is no asymmetry in your face.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
