Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
My periods have started, and I noticed cloudy urine. When I wash my pad, I see many cloudy bubbles in the toilet. I am concerned whether this could be a kidney issue or a vaginal infection. I also experience chills, weakness, and a burning sensation in the vaginal area. Sometimes only a small amount of urine passes, and I need to urinate frequently at night.
Please help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I am deeply concerned about your symptoms.
The most likely diagnosis is a urinary tract infection. Cloudy urine with bubbles, along with a burning sensation, chills, weakness, frequent urination, and passing small amounts of urine, strongly suggest a bladder infection rather than kidney disease. Bubbles in the toilet water are usually due to concentrated urine or mild protein, but when associated with burning and frequent urination, infection is far more likely.
Kidney issues can be ruled out unless there are cases of intense back pain, fever, swollen face or leg, or extremely foamy and continuous urine all the time. The signs that you have mentioned – burning sensation, frequency of small urine, nocturnal urination, and chills – indicate a lower UTI infection, which may develop if the chills are severe.
You need a urine routine test and urine culture, and antibiotic treatment may be required. If you develop a high fever, flank pain, vomiting, or feel very weak, you should seek urgent medical care.
I hope this answers your question. Please let me know if you need further help.
Thank you.
