Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My son is 10 years old and has been getting colds and fevers often for the past two months. He either gets a stomach upset or a cold with a fever. For the past three days, he has had a severe cough that does not make him sleep at night. Should I consult a doctor in person for this, or will remedy help? I gave antihistamines, but it worked only for a few minutes. Even remedies like steam and honey with black pepper powder did not work. Is this due to climate change, since it is winter or something due to conditions like pneumonia? He also has a wheezing problem from his childhood right from his birth.

Kindly help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

It is a recurrence of bronchitis, and it is associated with low immunity. Give tulsi leaves and ginger juice with honey three times a day. Nebulize twice daily with Duolin (Levosalbutamol) and Budecort (Budesonide) respules. Give one tablet of Prulastin M (Bilastine and Montelukast)once daily and Cefixime (antibiotic) 200 mg twice daily. I suggest you to follow a few instructions mentioned below:

  1. Ask him to do yoga and pranayam regularly.
  2. Avoid fast food.
  3. Eat good nutritious foods regularly.
  4. Put Anu taila or Shadbindu taila in both nostrils twice a day regularly to improve the immunity of nasal mucosa.
  5. Take tablet Geriforte three times a day for six months.
  6. All these will help to improve his immune system and prevent the recurrence of colds and coughs.

All these will help to improve his immune system and prevent the recurrence of colds and coughs.

I hope this information will help you.

Thanks.
