Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have been constipated for the past three days. My cousin, a doctor, asked me to take dietary fiber for constipation. But did not mention the supplements and dosage of how much I should take? Is dietary fiber available over-the-counter? If so, then how much will help my constipation? For how long will I have to take those supplements? Can I stop taking it if my constipation resolves?

Please advise me, doctor.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Dietary fibers mean a fiber-rich diet.

1. Take more salads and fruits.

2. Take flax seeds regularly.

3. Do abdominal exercise regularly.

4. Can take (consult with a specialist doctor, consult with him or her and take medicines with their consent) Naturolax-A powder (dietary fibre), one spoon in 200 ml of water at night for a few weeks. You can stop it once constipation is settled.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
