Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 20-year-old male. My height is 5 feet 10 inches, and my weight is 128 pounds. I experience pain during bowel movements, and I do not have proper bowel movements. Sometimes, I also notice the presence of blood. Additionally, my anus does not open properly, making it difficult for me to have a bowel movement. I have to strain hard, and even then, only a small amount of stool comes out. This process causes a lot of pain. I have been dealing with this issue for the past two months. Please help me.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern. I am not able to physically examine you or provide medical advice based on your symptoms alone. However, based on the information you have provided, it is possible that you may be experiencing symptoms of constipation or hemorrhoids. Constipation is a common condition that can cause difficulty passing stool, a feeling of incomplete bowel movements, and sometimes pain during bowel movements. Hemorrhoids, on the other hand, are swollen veins in the rectum or anus that can cause pain, itching, and bleeding during bowel movements or at other times. I would suggest you do the following to help manage your symptoms:

  1. Drink plenty of water and eat a diet rich in fiber to help promote regular bowel movements.
  2. Exercise regularly to help improve overall digestive health.
  3. Avoid straining during bowel movements, as this can worsen symptoms of constipation and hemorrhoids.
  4. Consider using over-the-counter stool softeners or laxatives to help promote regular bowel movements, but be sure to follow the instructions carefully.
  5. Consider speaking with a gastroenterologist to further evaluate your symptoms and explore potential treatment options.

Remember, it is always better to stay on the side of caution when it comes to your digestive health, and seeking the advice of a gastroenterologist can help provide valuable information and resources to help you manage your concerns.

I hope this information is helpful.

Thank you.
