Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am unable to have a BM, it has been almost 10 days. I have no abdominal pain. I am also passing gas. I have been eating a lot of fiber.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I am afraid 10 days is too long to go without a bowel movement. I understand that you usually go every couple of days but if it has been that long, you may need to take some measures. Firstly, you need to drink plenty of water and eat whole grain stuff, bulk-forming food, in addition to the fibers for roughage and water for maintaining a soft consistency. If you are not having any abdominal pain yet, chances are you may have it soon unless you clear the bowel soon. You can try glycerin suppository after a heavy meal which includes the things mentioned above and then uses a glycerin suppository. Have you been skipping meals or not eating enough? Have you been anxious or depressed lately? As these things could contribute to chronic constipation like your case. If you still do not get a bowel movement or if there is a pain, you may need to go to the hospital where they may give you an enema wash.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
