Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I woke up with a bad rash on my right upper cheek after I used a new soap. It was throbbing and painful. I also had some bumps with pus in them that are itchy. I went to the doctor and was told that it looked like an allergic reaction. I consulted another doctor who suggested it to be a bacterial infection and prescribed antibiotics. What could it be?

Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have seen your query.

I went through the image (the attachment removed to protect the patient's identity).

It seems you have irritant contact dermatitis. It is a localized disease confined to areas of exposure and may aggravate when exposed to an irritant. After cleaning the area with normal tap water, I suggest you apply Fluticasone (a corticosteroid) and Fusidic acid (antibiotic) combination twice daily for five days. I also suggest you take a tablet of Levocetirizine (antihistamine) once daily for five days.

Consult your doctor, discuss with him or her, and take the medicine with their consent.

Hope it helps.

Thanks and regards..

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
