I am a 19-year-old male and I weigh 138 pounds. My height is 5 feet and 8 inches. I have been coughing for four years. I often spit out a lot of sputum (yellow or white), a few times with small amounts of blood. Recently, I have had frequent chest pain. I often feel tired and have a loss of appetite. After physical exertion, for example, jogging, I experience chest pain. At the same time, my lung capacity does not seem to have decreased. I do not take any medicines. Please help.

Acute chest syndrome needs to be ruled out. Do you have any history of night sweats, weight loss, or difficulty breathing? Please do a chest X-ray, sputum MCS (sputum culture), and Mantoux test. I suggest you take the following:

Tablet Isosorbide mononitrate plus aspirin (Vasoprin) 75mg orally every day.
Capsule Rifampicin 600 mg orally thrice a day for three months.
Tablet Isoniazid 300 mg orally every day.
Tablet Ketoconazole 200 mg orally every day.
Tablet Acyclovir 800 mg orally every day.
