What causes frequent cough with sputum while eating?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My husband has frequently been coughing along with sputum every time he eats something, or in general, also he coughs a lot. He also consumed medicines for tuberculosis after consulting our local doctor, but the problem persists. He used to have chest pains very often, which are in control these days, and he even gets allergic rashes on his skin when exposed to heat and sun.

Kindly help me.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to iclinq.com.

As per the above details, your husband has been treated for TB (tuberculosis) and is now experiencing cough while eating. This can be due to many reasons, like acid reflux, allergies, or choking etc. I suggest you give him Montair- LC (Levocetirizine and Montelukast) with the consent of your physician.

Hope it helps.

Thank you.
