Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
My boyfriend and I went on a tour that took us up to 5555 yards after acclimatizing well. However, we contracted COVID on the tour. We have come down to the nearest town which is around 4166 yards and tried to rest there. We both had COVID symptoms (sore throat, headache, and blocked nose). I still do but he seems to have improved in that way. But now he cannot stop vomiting and has diarrhea.
His blood oxygen is currently at 86 (varies up to about 91) and his heart rate is 105. He has tried Diamox, Paracetamol, and anti-sickness tablets. The hotel has oxygen so we do not know whether to ask to use that or to try and get lower (the nearest town is a six hours drive and around 3055 yards) but I am not sure how he would make it whilst he is vomiting so often.
Please help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I have gone through your question, and I understand your concerns.
I would recommend using oxygen and taking Zofran (Ondansetron hydrochloride dihydrate) shots to stop the vomiting. Please keep him hydrated adequately and avoid long rides in this condition. I hope you find this helpful.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Thank you, that is really helpful.
We have asked for a doctor to come out with some oxygen. We went to the chemist earlier and asked for anti-sickness tablets. We were given Adecuan metoclopramide. Is that the same as what you have suggested?
Please help.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
No, it is not the same but still, it will be helpful in improving the vomiting despite it having less efficacy than the shots.
Thank you.
