Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am COVID positive. For the past four days, I have had Zady 500 mg, Doxycycline, Dolo-650, and Limcee. Initially, my fever was 99.5 to 101.5, and now it is settled at 99. Presently I have soreness, heaviness, and slight muscle stiffness in the legs. What to do further?
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I can understand your concerns. The medications you are taking are sufficient. It is only symptomatic management. Unfortunately, the weakness with COVID is sometimes severe. Please take bed rest. And keep monitoring your oxygen saturation. You may have to buy one pulse oximeter if you do not have one. Saturation should be above 92 ℅. Keep yourself well hydrated. You may take Paracetamol as and when needed.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Thank you for the reply.
What to do after five days of medicine, as today is the fifth day?
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
Antibiotics can be stopped once you finish their course. Limcee (Vitamin C) and Zinc, you may continue. Dolo-650 (Paracetamol) can be taken as and when needed. I assume you are isolating yourself at home. I would also like to know if you have other comorbidities like diabetes, hypertension, or lung or heart problems.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Thank you for the reply.
I have no major problem. The doctor has started Lisinopril 5 mg for blood pressure two weeks back.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
There is nothing to worry about. You may feel a little tired and exhausted. Take rest and report to your doctor if saturation falls below 92 to 93 %. Keep yourself hydrated. If fever spikes, you may take a Paracetamol tablet. Isolate yourself in a well-ventilated room. Follow hand hygiene, like washing your hands regularly and wearing a mask. You may repeat RT-PCR after 14 days (from the day you were diagnosed as COVID positive), and if negative, you may resume your work and finish isolation. I hope this helps. Please take Care.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Thank you for the reply.
I have noticed that whenever I climb 25 to 30 steps stairs in one go, I feel shortness of breath. However, in other routines it is normal. This has been for about eight months. Should I need a further checkup?
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
Initially, electrocardiography and echocardiography of the heart need to be done. If you are not a regular exerciser, breathlessness is common after climbing stairs. Once done, you may share the reports for further discussion. Also, let me know if it is only breathlessness or associated with chest pain and giddiness.
