Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
My daughter is five years old, and I noticed that her left eye turns more inward than her right eye when she looks towards the right side, such that the black area of her left eye looks smaller than her right eye. I checked her eyes with our local ophthalmologist, who said her eyes are normal, with normal eyesight, no strabismus, and no amblyopia. She is a healthy child with no history of illness. Also, there is no history of strabismus or amblyopia in our family. What do you suggest we do with her condition? Can it be corrected? Please give your suggestions.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I went through your query and understood your concern.
The pictures you sent show no difference in the size of the eyeballs of the two eyes (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity). You mentioned that your ophthalmologist has confirmed that she has normal vision, but in the third picture, it appears that the right eye fails to move up when the child is told to look towards the right side and upwards, but the left eye moves normally. I suggest you to talk to your ophthalmologist and check the elevation in abduction. Apart from that, your child looks normal. Kindly get this checked and get back with the follow-up. Thanks and regards.
