Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My son went on a river trip three days ago. He got some bite and started to have blisters in his shoulders that are spread to other parts. The blisters are itching. He also has diarrhea.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I saw the photos attached (attachments removed to protect the patient’s identity).

The picture looks like creeping eruptions seen in conditions like cutaneous larva migrans (a parasitic infection). It occurs due to contact of the skin with contaminated water containing some parasitic larvae, which enters our skin and tends to crawl inside. It would have started at a particular point and continue to move further. There will be a typical blister formation at the site of entry of the larvae. Itchiness is present due to local hypersensitivity reaction.

I suggest you get examined by your doctor in person before starting the antibiotics. Your son will be fine after the treatment.

Take care.

The Probable causes
